Mykonos New Port · Tourlos
Watch Tourlos slide closer from the ferry deck, walk down the ramp, and drive. We hand you the keys at the Mykonos New Port — or your suite, your villa, the airport — at no charge, from the island's largest independent fleet.

Almost every ferry to Mykonos — from Piraeus, Rafina, Paros, Naxos, Santorini — docks at the New Port in Tourlos, a couple of kilometres north of Chora. Most cruise ships moor there too. It is where your holiday actually begins, and it is where we are based. Renting a car at the Mykonos port means your island time starts the moment the ramp comes down, not an hour and a taxi ride later.
Send your ferry or cruise line and arrival time with your booking request. That's all we need — no apps, no kiosks, no queue codes.
We watch the schedules the way only locals do. If the sea is rough and your boat is late, your car is late with you. Nobody stands on a quay wondering where we are.
Your car is parked steps from the passenger exit with the paperwork ready. A few signatures, a quick walk-around, and you're on the coast road before the crowd has found a taxi.
The traditional Mykonos car-hire routine asks you to fight for a taxi at the busiest dock in the Cyclades, ride to a rental desk near the airport, queue behind three families, and then drive back past the port you started from. On an August afternoon that loop can swallow your first two hours of holiday.
Car hire at the Mykonos New Port removes the whole detour. There is no shuttle and no counter because the counter comes to you. The 200 metres from the ferry ramp to your driver's seat is the entire journey — and when you leave, we collect the car at the port, your hotel, or the airport, wherever your route home begins.
Come down the ramp and head for the passenger terminal exit — we're waiting just outside it, keys visible, with your name on a VEZO card. Arriving by cruise ship tender at the Old Port instead? Tell us; we deliver there just as happily. Landing at the airport? Same promise, same price: free.
The port is our home ground, not our limit. We deliver and collect anywhere on Mykonos free of charge — the airport, your hotel reception in Chora, a villa gate in Ornos, the doorstep of VEZO Suites in Tourlos. Rent a car in Mykonos once and let it follow your plans, not the other way around.
VEZO Suites guests
VEZO Car Rental is the road-going half of VEZO Suites, our family's boutique stay above Tourlos bay. Guests get a preferred rate and the shortest delivery run on the island — from our lot to your reception desk.

Every suite carries a QR code by the door. Scan it whenever the mood for a drive strikes.

Booking a suite and a car together is the calmest way to arrive on Mykonos: one WhatsApp thread, one family looking after both, keys and room key handed over side by side. Ask us for a stay-and-drive rate when you book your dates.
Discover VEZO SuitesOur story
In 1978, long before the island had a New Port, the Assimomitis family began renting cars to the travellers stepping off the boats at the old harbour. Two generations later, Assimomitis Rent a Car runs the largest independent fleet on Mykonos — more than fifty Jeep Wranglers among them — every car garaged, serviced, and known by name in our own workshop.
VEZO Car Rental is the newest chapter of that story. When the family opened VEZO Suites above Tourlos bay, guests kept asking the same question: can the car simply be here when we arrive? We built VEZO Car Rental at the New Port to answer it — a rental brand shaped entirely around the moment of arrival, for suite guests and ferry travellers alike.
We live here. We know which beach road washed out in the spring, which chapel is worth the detour, and exactly how long the Piraeus ferry takes to tie up. That knowledge comes with every set of keys.

Good to know
Just outside the passenger terminal exit at Tourlos, a short walk from the ferry ramp. We're there before your boat docks, holding a VEZO card with your name, and your car is parked steps away. If your cruise ship tenders to the Old Port instead, tell us and we'll meet you there.
A driving licence held for at least one year and a passport or ID card. EU, UK, US, Canadian, and Australian licences are accepted as they are; visitors from most other countries need an International Driving Permit alongside their national licence. The minimum driver age is 21.
Third-party liability coverage, as Greek law requires, is always part of the rental. Full insurance is not included — it's an optional extra. Ask for it with your quote and we'll price it clearly and explain the excess in plain language before you sign anything.
Anywhere on Mykonos, free: the airport arrivals curb, your hotel or villa, VEZO Suites reception, or a taverna car park if that's where your day starts. Collection at the end works the same way — leave the car where your journey ends and hand us the keys.
Nothing you need to manage. We follow the ferry schedules live — Aegean delays are part of island life — and we adjust your delivery to the real arrival time at no charge. Your car waits for you, never the reverse.
It's small — no drive takes much over half an hour — but the lanes are narrow, parking in Chora is scarce, and summer scooters appear from everywhere. That's why islanders favour compact cars and small 4×4s. Park at the edge of town, never block a gate, and take the last stretch to remote beaches slowly. We'll mark the tricky spots on a map when we hand over the keys.
Contact & booking
Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and arrival details — a person from the family answers, usually within the hour, with availability, a quote, and a confirmed meeting point.
Tell us three things: your dates, how you arrive (ferry, cruise, or flight — line and time if you know them), and the car you have in mind. We confirm availability and your exact meeting point in one conversation, and your car is waiting when you land.
